A region of the mind, heart, or soul that has frozen and gone lifeless — a place of desolation, trauma, or unknowing. As in the Arthurian myths: when the king is sick, the land is sick, and the people suffer. You are called to breathe in movement and energy, to lift the stagnation and bring new life — or to leave behind the part of your life that causes the stagnation.

Reversed — you are emerging from a period of stagnation. If the card came as advice, it calls you to act and to plan in a way that keeps you from freezing, so the energy flows again. It is also linked to stagnant chi: try movement of the body, acupuncture, meditation. It can also mean that a stagnant situation is passing.
